intrigue

currently addicted to this confectionery quote via the mind of the ever-so-brilliant Chuck Palahnuik

"Several years ago, sailors on long voyages used to leave a pair of pigs on every deserted island. Or they'd leave a pair of goats. Either way, on any future visit, the island would be a source of meat. These islands, they were pristine. These were home to breeds of birds with no natural predators. Breeds of birds that lived nowhere else on earth. The plants there, without enemies they evolved without thorns or poisons. Without predators and enemies, these islands, they were paradise. The sailors, the next time they visited these islands, the only things still there would be herds of goats or pigs. .... Does this remind you of anything? Maybe the ol' Adam and Eve story? .... You ever wonder when God's coming back with a lot of barbecue sauce?"

straight through my heart

The title of this is the new Backstreet Boys single ahhhh....tis love [:

anyway, I have some happy updates and some sad, which do you prefer first?
the bad:I have a crappy phone right now with no one's numbers cause Roger snapped my other phone in half. I have realized my unhealthy feelings have turned into obsession and I need to get over it! I'm still struggling with my writing, gahh idk why I'm so out of touch. I hate waiting-for papers to be signed, for the BSB to start touring in the U.S., for life to be less complicated, for my new life to start. :/
the good:I realized that my best friend is the best I've ever had! My adoptive parents are gonna sign me over to my dad. My dad walked me on the field and I got 1st runner-up at homecoming. I'm imersing myself heavily in Gibran and Shakespeare. I'm gonna go see BSB with Holly, Billie, and Megan next year. I'm beginning to feel at peace. [:

gahh, this world, this life, I want to make it count. I want to make a difference. I want to feel whole, serving my God given purpose. That's all, ha, just random info for you.

simply marvelous

I've come across many, many quotes by an extraordinary man whom I claim as a hero of mine.
His name is Kahlil Gibran, and he is brilliant beyond other writers. I find that his perception of love, courage, faith, and life all relate to my opinions and it's comforting.
If you've never heard of him, I suggest you look him up.
one of my favorite quotes is from his book The Prophet:
"Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul.
If either your sails or your rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas.
For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction.
Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the height of passion, that it may sing;
And let it direct your passion with reason, that your passion may live through its own daily resurrection, and like the phoenix rise above its own ashes."
